Afshin Mayabadi | Illustrator, Book Cover Designer & Art Director

Hello! I’m Afshin Mayabadi, an illustrator, graphic designer and art director focused on visual storytelling. My work spans illustration, book cover design, character-led artwork, editorial illustration, branding and graphic design. I work across both digital and traditional media, drawing much of my inspiration from nature, everyday life, animation and comics.

Through each project, I aim to create distinctive characters, atmospheric imagery and memorable visual identities that connect naturally with their audience. This portfolio brings together selected illustration, book cover, art direction and graphic design projects, including personal work and commissioned projects.

And the Twelve Days of War

A selection of illustration frames I created for the book, inspired by a personal experience my wife and I had during the twelve days of conflict between the U.S. and Iran in 2026.

Booji and marmar

The book is a dark folktale about separation, bewitched animals, and a young girl who serves as the main character. Twenty illustrations have been created for the book, which is scheduled for publication in 2027.
